    Taught in-house at your organisation, the Graduate Certificate in Management is a bespoke training solution for firms looking to develop leadership and management skills in existing staff. The course is carefully tailored to address company-specific requirements.

    A key strength of the Graduate Certificate in Management is its flexibility. Organisations can choose from a wide selection undergraduate modules, making it well suited to meet company and individual needs.

    This course is for staff who wish to broaden their knowledge of management and gain a graduate-level management accreditation relevant to their workplace. It is ideal for:
    - first-level team managers or supervisors
    - those aspiring to a first-level management role
    - senior specialists, eg social workers or medical specialists
    - managers who have not come through formal university education, perhaps with a view to accrediting existing skills or progressing to further qualifications.

  • Course content

    Course structure

    The Graduate Certificate in Management can be delivered weekly, in teaching blocks or a combination of the two. Again, the needs of the organisation will be taken into account when agreeing the mode of delivery.

    Overall, it is anticipated that a typical student will devote 10-12 hours per week to their course over a one-year period.Learning will be delivered via a combination of lectures and workshops, with emphasis on developing learning ability and independent study skills.

    Each module will be assessed separately. Assessments incorporate work-related issues, allowing for immediate transfer of knowledge from the course to the workplace. Assessments include a mixture of written assignments, videos presentations, reports and case studies.

    Modules will be chosen taking into account the students' scope of responsibility in their organisation,their personal development/career aspirations, and the organisation's needs.Employers are invited to participate in a training needs analysis.

  • Fees and costs

    The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2012-13. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and may be subject to small increases, in line with inflation.

    The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.

    What's included in the fee?

    When costs such as health or criminal record checks, field trips or use of specialist materials are incurred as a mandatory requirement of the course they are included in your tuition fee.

    You may incur additional costs depending on the optional modules or activities you choose. The cost of optional activities is not included in your tuition fee and you will need to meet this cost in addition to your fees.
