About the course
This course offers a clinically-oriented and theoretical framework in which to enhance teaching practice. It creates scope for the development of individual interests for those teaching or proposing to teach medical students and doctors.
Integrated within the university's health and social science graduate programme, the course provides valuable cross-disciplinary experience through common modules shared with other courses in the scheme.

Current or planned involvement in the teaching of medical students and/or doctors. A first degree is not essential but evidence of three years professional experience will be required. Applicants with recognised education certificates may be eligible for a shortened route.For equivalent international qualifications

Course content
Course structure
The double core module requires the addition of one option from the list shown to complete the PGCert.
Individual modules may be studied independently for continuing professional development.
The double core module is also recognised as a route to becoming a GP trainer. Two additional days of teaching with KSS Deanery faculty are required to become eligible to be a GP trainer.
Areas of study
The core module covers theories of student learning and encourages critical analysis of learning, teaching and assessment methods in a medical context.

Fees and costs
The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2013-14. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and may be subject to small increases, in line with inflation.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.
What's included in the fee?
When costs such as health or criminal record checks, field trips or use of specialist materials are incurred as a mandatory requirement of the course they are included in your tuition fee.
You may incur additional costs depending on the optional modules or activities you choose. The cost of optional activities is not included in your tuition fee and you will need to meet this cost in addition to your fees.
