Student Community Engagement Programme wins MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship, 2011

The University of Brighton has won international recognition for Cupp's Student Community Engagement Programme which has so far encouraged 1,500 students to get involved in community projects as part of their learning programme.

It was placed second in the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship and will collect $2,500 to help support the project activities.

The contest is run by the USA-based Talloires Network, an international association of institutions which strengthen civic roles of higher education. Awards will be presented in Madrid in June.

Community Campus Partnership for Health (CCPH) Award Honourable Mention, 2010

Cupp has received an honourable mention at the prestigious 2010 Community-Campus Partnerships for Health awards.

The 2010 CCPH award winner and the partnerships recognised as honourable mentions were announced at CCPH's 11th Conference, "Creating the Future We Want to Be: Transformation through Partnerships" in Portland, Oregon USA on 12-15 May 2010.

Highly commended at the national Green Gown Awards, 2009

Cupp was highly commended in the Social Responsibility category at the prestigious awards, which recognises exceptional initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across Britain to become more environmentally and socially sustainable.

Times Higher Education Award, 2008

In 2008 Cupp received the Times Higher Education Award for an ‘outstanding contribution to our local community’. Cupp is really pleased that the work of Community Partners and University Colleagues involved in Cupp have been acknowledged in this way.
