10 down, 10 to go! Cupp makes it into a second decade!

In 2013 Cupp is 10 years old, and we intend to celebrate the excellent achievements of university and community partners.  All are welcome to attend our celebratory event on 8^th July in central Brighton, see  http://bit.ly/Xiik3F

Alongside acknowledging the great work that has been done over the last 10 years, our theme for 2013 is to explore the future for Brighton as a community engaged University. Our aim is to celebrate the 10 years of community university partnership working at University of Brighton and develop an ambitious vision for the following 10 years.   To this end we will be producing a number of publications, activities and events  including:

• A publication of social engagement case studies that illustrate the University of Brighton’s work with local communities 
• A self-publishing web resource celebrating partnerships between University of Brighton and local communities whereby those involved can tell their own stories using Community 21 software 
• 2 publications that describe Cupp in 2013: 1 aimed at university of Brighton staff, students and local community partners to help them participate in partnerships; another for other universities and policy makers interested in our model
• A study into the characteristics of the future university that will help evolve strategy.   This will include a symposium to develop the ‘day in the life of the engaged university -University of Brighton in 2023’. We hope that this work will contribute to other relevant activity such as NCCPE’s work on the future of the engaged university, and a national project that is exploring the future of communities. This study will lead to a short publication that describes a future day in the life of a community engaged University of Brighton
