Get involved with the Global Sharing Day
Global Sharing Day 2013 will take place worldwide on Sunday June 2nd. The People Who Share, The Big Lunch & Meal Sharing are coming together to set a World Record for the most people sharing food in a single day!
Last year’s Global Sharing Day reached over 60 million people from 147 countries – it was the ‘Greatest Share on Earth’. The theme for this year’s event is.... FOOD! Every year tonnes of edible food goes to landfill, yet there are millions globally living in food poverty.
Cupp is pledging support to this event. To find out more about how to get involved on the day please visit Global Sharing Day

Cupp supports many food and sustainability initiatives - below a staff volunteer describes the great work being done at the Falmer vegetable garden & the University of Brighton Food Co-Op.
Lucy Dance is a programme assistant at the university’ Schoolof Education. Through the staff volunteering scheme, the university supported her volunteering in establishing a vegetable garden on Falmer campus and promoting the University of Brighton Food Co-Op. It’s all part of the Sustainability Action Network, which aims to make the university a better place to work and study for staff and students. Besides introducing people to the benefits of local, seasonal produces, the projects have had the unplanned benefit of increasing interaction between different departments too.
" I was delighted when the Staff Volunteering Scheme was launched as I’ve been a keen volunteer with several local charities and community groups for many years. I initially applied to the scheme to visit vegetable projects across Brighton to gain knowledge and understanding on how to start the vegetable garden on Falmer campus ".
