**Exciting opportunity to keep fundraising for On Our Doorsteps that doesn’t cost you a penny!**

The University is working with All4Charities – a Brighton based organisation that negotiate commission with online retailers which they then donate to specified charities.  If you shop via their site (registration takes a few minutes and membership is free) the price that you pay is no higher than if bought directly from the retailer’s website.  Yet any purchase you make whilst online shopping will automatically ensure that On Our Doorsteps receives 100% of that retailer's commission (usually 5-10% of the price you pay).  You can choose from over 500 retailers including John Lewis, M&S, EBay, iTunes, Amazon etc.

We are excited about this as an opportunity to raise funds to keep supporting innovative partnership projects between the university and its local communities in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings that put their collective expertise, networks and resources into solving local social issues.  For the past three years we have always had more applications for great ideas than we can fund and demand has been consistently high for us to keep funds in the pot.

So… we are not asking you to reach into your pocket for a donation – but we are asking that if you have plans to do some shopping online, would you consider having a go at it through this site?

If you are shopping anyway and have an extra 2 minutes to spare each time to log on to the site then that would be fantastic… You may not be able to see the value of your donation immediately (the site has taken a few days to update in some of our trials).  But it does work – and every penny counts towards supporting local communities and academic staff to work together to make a difference.

The steps to try this out are:

1. Register on the all4charities site (http://www.all4charities.co.uk/register.aspx )
2. Select University of Brighton  to support On Our Doorsteps from the list
3. You will be sent a validation email immediately. Validate your account.
4. Choose from over 500 retailers and shop as normal.
