The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement is part of the Beacons for Public Engagement project. It's role is to inspire a culture change in how universities engage with the public.

The Centre for Continuing Education will be re-launched in the autumn 2009 as the Centre for Community Engagement. It offers a range of activities from short courses, residential summer schools to continuing professional development.

Science Shop Wales

Science Shop Wales employs a team of trained researchers, and University students and their tutors to carry out research for the community. Further, they produce a range of leaflets covering some of the many topics raised by their projects.

The Northern Ireland Science Shop is a link between the universities and the community, has offices at Queen's University Belfast and the University of Ulster and has contacts with non-profit groups throughout Northern Ireland. Community and voluntary groups often require specialist skills to develop their work - the Science Shop can put these groups in touch with students who might be able to work with them.
