Brighton and Sussex Community Knowledge Exchange (BSCKE)
The Brighton and Sussex Community Knowledge Exchange (BSCKE) was an initiative to support and fund mutually beneficial partnerships between communities and universities in Brighton and Hove and coastal Sussex. It tackled real community problems, recognising and addressing diversity and engaging with socially excluded groups.
BSCKE facilitated the exchange and growth of knowledge across sectors. University partners provided practical support to community, voluntary, public sector and social enterprise organisations and networks, grounded in academic understanding and expertise. In their turn, community partners contributed to lasting culture change within the universities by bringing real issues into teaching and research.
The Universities of Brighton and Sussex were awarded funds from the Higher Education Innovation Fund 2 to develop BSCKE. This funding came to an end in July 2009.
