On Our Doorsteps Seed Fund
* The seed fund is closed to new enquiries at the moment, if you would like to talk to someone in Cupp about potential partnership work, please contact Bethan Prosser who is our Helpdesk Manager *
The seed fund element of the programme is intended to support projects that are the start of partnership working between university of Brighton staff and students and local communities. On Our Doorsteps is concerned with establishing long term relationships between university and community that can contribute to building neighbourliness. We believe that when the universities and communities work together there can be good outcomes for all partners.
The Aims of the programme are:
- Increase mutually beneficial relationships between staff and students and the communities in their immediate proximity to UoB campus buildings
- Through these relationships develop activities that promote an exchange between university and community that builds neighbourliness
- Encourage and support partnerships to secure longer term funding for activities that engage in co-production of outputs
- Develop project activity that can provide volunteering opportunities for university staff and students to contribute to the longevity and reach of these projects.
We are looking for projects that:
- have an academic and community partner working together on a problem of common interest
- deliver the majority of their activities in areas in close proximity to university of Brighton buildings
- develop activity that provides volunteering opportunities
- promote an exchange between university and community that builds neighbourliness
- demonstrate potential for longer term partnership working
If you have a good idea for a partnership project that you think meets these criteria, please take a look at the guidance notes for more detail about eligibility and the application process. To download the article on neighbourliness mentioned in the guidance notes please click here
