Student Community Engagement Information For Community Organisations
How your organisation could benefit from working with students
For local voluntary and community organisations, the university's student community engagement activities can provide access to practical, cost-effective support that would not otherwise be funded, i.e. research, evaluation, mentoring, and practical assistance with projects.
The benefits can include:
access to hands-on support and university expertise- students' energy, enthusiasm and ideas
- low-cost help (main cost is time spent working with students) and opportunities to tackle tasks that could not otherwise be funded
- opportunities to influence university curricular and develop programmes more approriate to local needs
- the chance to identify potential employees and possible staff development links
- an opportunity to gain a clearer idea of how the university operates and what it can provide
