Centenary events

In 2009/10 the School of Education celebrates a century of learning. To mark this centenary we have planned a full programme of events.

Voices and Visions conference

The Voices and Visions conference was a unique opportunity for the School of Education to connect with our partners across the sector with: inspirational speakers, learning conversations, workshops and more. Attendees joined us in our new Checkland Building on the special day of learning and networking. It was a chance for them to add their voices to the conference and be part of our vision for the next generation. Read more about the Voices and Visions conference.

A school for Malagiri

So many people in Nepal receive an inadequate education and live in conditions of extreme poverty. As we all know, education can make a huge difference in people’s lives and provides the means by which individuals can improve their circumstances.

We believe this relatively small project will be of great benefit to the community of Malagiri and will allow the School of Education to make a positive impact upon the future of the children and indeed Malagiri itself. Read more about the school for Malagiri project.

More than 100 graduates from around the UK and abroad including Brunei and France attended the 100th anniversary of the University of Brighton's School of Education at the Falmer campus on Saturday, 12 September 2009. Read more about the Alumni reunion.
