Voices and Visions Conference Workshops

Drawing workshop - Pauline Ridley, University of Brighton

Drawing to learn – making ideas visible. This practical session will demonstrate some of the ways in which drawing and collage can help participants organise and develop ideas, visualise and communicate abstract concepts and explore personal and professional identities. It builds on a recent series of workshops exploring the role of visual practice in supporting learning and research in every discipline. Anyone can do it, no special artistic ability needed!

Resources and links to support the use of drawing in different disciplines can be seen at 'the BigDraw', an award-winning programme of activities that took place across the University in October 2007. You can also download some suggestions for drawing activities suitable for use during induction periods: Drawing Activities for Induction (300k pdf).

You can book your place on the Drawing workshop here.
