Biography

I have held my current role, Head of the School of Education, for the past 7 years. I have been actively involved in Higher Education for just over 20 years, having moved into the sector following a successful career in schools.

Throughout my career, I have gained opportunities to work with students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a range of contexts. I have also contributed to the development of provision and policy at National level and have worked with the (then) DCSF and the TDA on several projects including the DCSF Mathematics Specialist programme for Primary Teachers and the TDA funded Masters in Teaching and Learning programme (MTL). I also contributed to a TDA funded Change Management project which resulted in the publication of case-study materials that were distributed across the sector.

The nature and scope of my role means that I lead and orchestrate a broad range of strategic developments both within and beyond my institution. Much of my work is outward facing and is concerned with sustaining and creating partnerships that are characterised by reciprocity and mutual gain.
