The School of Education in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Innovation in Childhood and Youth (CIRCY) at the University of Sussex, has launched a competition for children and young people called #iMedia.

It asks 6-18 year olds to make a short film about how they use social media and new technology. Winning entries will be screened at a debate during the Brighton Festival on 20 May at the Sallis Benney theatre at University of Brighton.

The competition is part of an initiative called ‘Space Invaders’, which aims to facilitate children and young people's interventions into public spaces, engaging with adult anxieties about social media by helping young people educate adults about some of the creative and innovative ways they make use of social media.

The closing date for entries is 15 March.
