Within the Partnership Office, schools liaison is primarily responsible for developing and sustaining the Partnership in the training of teachers between the university and schools and colleges. This is undertaken through:
- providing an initial point of contact with schools/colleges
- negotiating school/college placements
- placing students in school or colleges
- producing guidance material
- the administration of assessment
- the training and development of professional tutors, mentors and link tutors
- arranging school and college visits for overseas visitors
- the administration of travel claims.
The university is not liable for failure of placement providers or of placement providers to provide a suitable placement. In such circumstances alternative arrangements will be made by the university. The university will seek placements with partners in the South East region of England. It is the responsibility and obligation of the student to arrange travel to and from the placement.
