Charlotte Standing, Design & Technology Education PGCE Conversion
I chose to do the 2-year conversion rather than the 1-year PGCE as I felt that although I've some experience in the majority of the Design Technology subjects, I hadn't touched on a few since I was at secondary school myself. Some areas I wasn't familiar with at all, like Systems and Control. I'm really pleased I did choose this route as I've gained so many new skills and have a greater understanding of the subject I'll eventually be teaching.
2 year Conversion courses replaced with pre-PGCE Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses (SKE), for those with a PGCE offer which is conditional on increasing subject knowledge through an SKE course.
