Prospective students

The School of Education has over 2,000 students, who study either at Falmer or one of our partner colleges. Around 95 staff are based on the Falmer campus just outside Brighton, and the school makes use of visiting lecturers who are experienced and current practitioners in their field.

We provide initial training and continuing development for professionals involved in the learning and development of others. This includes student teachers, teachers, teaching assistants, those involved in youth work, young people's services, playwork and early years to name a few. We also provide courses about education in a wider context.

Courses are offered at a range of undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with full-time, part-time and work-based study programmes.

We actively work to attract students from many countries and backgrounds. We aim to develop opportunities for home students to study abroad and to promote and develop partnerships with organisations and educational institutions abroad. We value diversity and are committed to the attainment of equal opportunities.

Professional relevance

The School has an excellent track record and reputation for developing flexible, high quality programmes, which respond to both local employer needs and emerging national strategies.
