Research Students at the University of Brighton are registered with the University of Brighton Doctoral College (BDC), though students carry out their day-to-day research within individual Schools. The BDC advertise any studentships on their web pages, as and when they are available.
There are currently two funded studentship available in the School of Education:Pedagogy for Connected Learning: Sustaining the Quality of Young People’s Learning Experiences and Aspirations in a Digital Age
The research questions that underpin this doctoral studentship focus on pedagogy, partnerships, theoretical frameworks, and innovative methodologies. The project will make contributions to knowledge and impacts for change in three areas: pedagogy for connected learning; participation in realising young people’s aspirations; and sustainable research partnerships between Higher Education and schools.

Research Collaboration and Cooperation: Narrative Study, Pedagogy and Learning
The studentship will study and extend the innovative work on narrative learning and pedagogy that is a key research focus in the Education Research Centre. The project will focus on forms of collaboration and cooperation in learning communities, with a particular interest in cooperative pedagogies.
