What our students say
Sociology of Sport and Leisure
Abena Boller
"I am studying sociology of sport and leisure 'with PE'. I thoroughly enjoy this course as it gives me the opportunity to learn about the theoretical side of sport and leisure as well as participate in various sports. I was attracted to this course because you can take sports such as athletics and swimming as part of your module choices. The course itself is extremely interesting and covers a wide variety of subject areas, from sport in the community to sport and social class."

Sport & Leisure Management
Matthew Williams
"I am currently acting as the Student Ambassador for the Sport and Leisure Management BA (Hons) degree course. In terms of sport, I love a wide variety from football to tennis. I am currently in my second year and am going on placement in March which will allow me to gain valuable experience. The arena of sport and physical activity is exciting to study and be involved in, particularly during the lead-up to the 2012 Olympics."

Primary Education with QTS
Jennifer Lamb
"I am 22 years old and originally from Suffolk and am on the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (5-11 years) course. When I filled in my UCAS form, Brighton was my 6th choice but as soon as I visited the university, I fell in love with the place. The four years studying at Brighton has given me time to grow to become a teacher, and I have felt fully supported by the university throughout. I have really loved all four of my teaching placements, which have been incredibly varied. I have already been offered a job to teach a Year 4 class back at home in Suffolk. I can't wait to start teaching but I will be sad to leave Brighton."

Design Technology
Charlotte Standing
"I'm currently at the end of my first year of the 2-year Design Technology conversion course. I chose to do the 2-year conversion rather than the 1-year PGCE as I felt that although I've some experience in the majority of the Design Technology subjects, I hadn't touched on a few since I was at secondary school myself. Some areas I wasn't familiar with at all, like Systems and Control. I'm really pleased I did choose this route as I've gained so many new skills and have a greater understanding of the subject I'll eventually be teaching."
