Centre for Learning and Teaching Research
The Centre for Learning and Teaching is strongly committed to research into aspects of learning and teaching in higher education - also known as pedagogic research. Such research provides important new insights which enhance the effectiveness of teaching. In addition, the process of research can be a valuable form of professional development in its own right for HE lecturers.
The Centre has responsibility for co-ordinating and supporting research into learning and teaching, as well as other types of research into HE, across the university. We organise workshops, seminars and conferences to support those researching learning and teaching in HE.
We also provide one-to-one advice to lecturers who are undertaking - or wish to undertake - such research, and we can arrange mentoring partnerships for pedagogic researchers. Ideas for further supporting research into learning and teaching at the university include a peer support group, a CLT seminar series, an archive of completed Centre for Learning and Teaching research projects.
