Committed to equality of opportunity and fair treatment for all.

Harassment and bullying

The University of Brighton is committed to upholding the dignity of the individual, to creating a stimulating and supportive learning and working environment, to promoting equality of opportunity and to valuing diversity.  Accordingly, it takes a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and harassment for staff, students and visitors.

The following documents provide guidance for staff and students who believe that they may be experiencing these negative behaviours.  These policies sit alongside the Staff Grievance Procedure and the Student Complaints Procedure.

The university also has a network of volunteer staff Harassment Contacts who are able to offer information and guidance in relation to the procedure and the different avenues available for reporting incidents if they occur.
