6.30pm Tuesday 8 November 2011
Chowen Lecture Theatre, Brighton and Sussex Medical School, University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton BN1 9PX
The treatment of cancer has undergone a significant change over recent years. Increased understanding of the cancer biology has opened the way to personalised medicine by utilising treatments more efficiently, modulating resistance and developing novel targeted therapies.
Professor Schmid will consider the emerging options and associated challenges, considering the impact of epigenetics, the application of new therapies, and the change of thinking about how research is conducted to deliver personalised treatment.
