Robert Tressell and The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists

This short film by Broadcast Media students features Trevor Hopper, History Lecturer, discussing the life of Robert Tressell in Hastings.

Robert Tressell was the pseudonym of Robert Noonan and his book, The Ragged Trouser Philantropists, is widely regarded as a classic of working-class literature. Tressell lived in Hastings and it inspired Mugsborough, the fictional town the book was set in.
