Cbeebies job for Hastings student
Published February 2013
TV Production graduate Luke Fuller has just secured a contract with Cbeebies’ Mister Maker, the arts and crafts TV show for pre-schoolers. He beat 200 other applicants to the job.
Luke previously worked on productions for ITV, BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5 including Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents, Dancing on Ice, Half Built House and Cutting Edge: Freaky Sleepers. He has also worked on the production of All You Need Is Kill, Tom Cruise’s latest film which is due for release next year.
Luke said: “If it hadn’t been for a visit by the university to my college in 2007 I would never have known that the TV course existed. During the course I was guided through every part of television life, the realities and the expectations and was given assistance in finding work."
“I had a dip during my second year but the course leader, Jo, picked me back up and installed hope that I would be able to get work in what I saw to be one of the toughest industries to break in to.
"As Hastings is a small university campus, you have a closer relationship with your lecturers and they can recognise your strengths and weaknesses easier and assist in building on them. I have been recommended for jobs and introduced to industry professionals that I would not have met if it wasn’t for this course; I owe it my career! "
