Published April 2012

Hastings Broadcast Journalism student Archie Rhind-Tutt has been nominated for the Barclay’s Aspiring Football Writer Competition award.

The competition is a collaboration between Barclays, title sponsor of the Premier League, and the Football Writers’ Association, which aims to provide up-and-coming UK writers with a taste of life as a top journalist reporting on the Barclays Premier League.

The writer of the best article, as chosen by the competition’s panel of judges, will win a money-can’t-buy trip to a Barclays Premier League match at Manchester City, alongside a top football journalist. The prize will include:

  • 2 tickets to a Barclays Premier League match at Manchester City
  • Tour of the press gantry
  • First class rail travel to Manchester
  • One night’s accommodation in a four star hotel
  • And…ONE WEEK’s work experience at MailOnline!

Three runners-up will also win a meeting with a leading football journalist to get an insight into what it takes to make it in the industry, as well as being given Barclays Premier League merchandise.

Archie's written piece is one of ten that was chosen out of 750 writers and you can see his and the other nominees entries here.
