Students visit the BBC

Published January 2013

A group of students from University of Brighton in Hastings enjoyed a recent trip to the BBC. This was the final chance to see Television Centre, which has epitomised television production in the UK since the 1960s, as the building has been sold for re-development.

The students are studying a range of courses available in Hastings: Broadcast Media, TV Production, Broadcast Journalism, Radio Production and Digital Post Production. They had the opportunity to see the newsroom, some of the eight television studios, sit on the Match of the Day sofa and to experience the virtual weather map.

"I thought the trip was a really great experience, to see everything we have been learning on a professional scale made me really excited to finish my degree and get a job in television!" Rose Swan said of her day

At the end of the tour the students were invited for tea and cake in the BBC club.
