Poetry in Motion for our TV Production students
Published May 2012
A group of 2nd year TV production students have submitted an entry to the 2012 De La Warr Film Festival. Now in its second year, is a fantastic day festival dedicated to young filmmakers. Organised and programmed by young people, the festival aims to showcase the best films from around the UK, created by young people.
The student’s entry was part of their final project FdA work where the brief was to take a poem and illustrate it with moving images to enhance the poetry, the objective of doing this was developing skills for their short film both technical and creative. They were allowed to use sound effects but not music.
The team included:
Director: Hannah Libby
Director of Photography: Lorena Wright
Sound: Elise Jones
Camera Operator: Jenna Lawrence
1st Assistant Director: Matthew Francis
Script Supervisor: Reeanne Reynolds
Editor: Sam Dobson
Course leader Jo Macdonnell was the driving force behind them deciding to enter:
“It was such a strong submission that when I saw the criteria for the De La Warr Festival I suggest that they submit it, they did a further edit to polish it further before submitting!”
The event is taking place on May 19 and runs all day and all entries will be shown on a loop throughout the day alongside a number of workshops.
