Loan Period

Students may borrow Long Loan items for three weeks; these items are issued to staff until the end of term. Some higher demand resources are available on 7 day loans only, but are clearly marked and there is also a small collection of Desk Loan only items.

Items may be recalled at any time. The date for return is given on a receipt at the time of issue. Please make sure that you return or renew the items by this date. Reminders are sent out on the 7 day loans but it is your responsibility to bring items back on time or renew them.

Items may be returned to the Hastings Campus Library, or any of the University of Brighton Libraries.

Late Returns

Fines will be charged for overdue 7-day items; overdue items are charged at 50p per day and Desk Loan items at £1 per hour.

If you owe fines you will not be able to borrow other items until all the fines are paid, but you can still renew any existing loans you have.
