Library Inductions

We offer a range of sessions for our different users, to help you to become familiar with the library and resources here.

Student inductions

Student inductions take place in the lecture theatre during the first week of term, and will normally be timetabled into your induction programme.

The induction will include

  • an overview of library services
  • demonstration of the Library Catalogue (OPAC)
  • a short introduction to Studentcentral and the Online Library

There will be additional catch-up sessions in the library for students who missed their timetabled session.

Please contact the library staff before the start of term if you have any queries about library facilities, and at any time during your studies here.

Staff inductions

Our staff inductions include

  • detailed information about the library
  • how to use the Library catalogue (OPAC) and online resources
  • access and borrowing arrangements and IT services

Library staff can also offer assistance to staff on a one-to-one basis at any time, about any of the above. Please just ask - we are here to help.

For general information about the Hastings campus, a campus tour, and information about administration and support services, please ask at the office on level 3.
