Support for students
We offer support for students across a wide range of areas
The first place to seek confidential support at our Hastings campus is via our Student Services helpdesk, where Lizzie or Lorraine will be able to help you find the right support for your query:
- call ext 4643
- email: hastingsstudentservices@brighton.ac.uk
- Visit room 2.26 (access via the library)
Support for all our students is available throughout all our campuses.
Advice
Help is available if you have concerns about money, exams, health, visas and other problems.
Advice about housing in Hastings is available separately:
Careers
We want all our students to develop the range of skills needed for success in their chosen careers. Our careers centres offer support in addition to the career support you get as part of your studies.
Counselling
If you need someone to talk things over with on a personal level, our counselling service can provide a safe, confidential environment for you to discuss your concerns.
Health
We offer advice on health matters including immunisation and finding a local doctor.
Money
A university education generally means better employment prospects and earning power, but you may need to look after your money carefully while you're studying.
Study support
A range of support is available for all students, including those who would welcome a little extra support getting into the swing of university studies.
If things aren't working out: transferring course or withdrawing
Many students feel like this, especially in their first term. It is important not to rush into a decision, and to seek advice early on so that you are not struggling alone. We can help you if you are worried whether you have chosen the right course or university, or whether study is right for you at the moment
