Coastal Regeneration Reseach Centre activities will contribute to high quality research in areas that are of strategic significance to the university. Read more about our research themes.
The Coastal Regeneration Research Centre aims to:
- build up research activity focusing on Hastings, St Leonards and area, with particular emphasis on social, economic and physical regeneration
- work closely with local community and voluntary organisations through the Community University Partnership Programme
- work with local councils, other statutory organisations and stakeholder with research interest in the Hastings and St Leonards area
- connect emerging research needs in the Hasting and St Leonards area with research agendas in the university
- encourage students on relevant programmes to consider Hastings and St Leonards area when choosing locations for their projects
The Coastal Regeneration Research Centre aims for the following outcomes:
- to be active centre of research activities relating to regeneration in the Hastings and St Leonards area
- to be a prominent source of support and advice for community and voluntary sector research
- to be a partner helping local authorities and agencies to meet their research needs
- to be a partner for research for the Hastings and St Leonards area, with research initiated by students and a strongly research-active group of staff in a range of areas
