Beside the seaside conference - 29 March 2010
Coastal Regeneration Research Centre launch event - 30 April 2009
Beside the seaside
29 March 2009 | half-day conference at the University of Brighton in Hastings
The first Annual Conference of the Coastal Regeneration Research Centre at University of Brighton's campus in Hastings was held jointly with the Community University Partnership Programme. It focused on progress made in CRRC's first year of operation on four key aspects of regeneration
- Diversity and Cohesion Issues
- Planning Issues
- Education Issues and Housing
- Debt and Employment Issues
The working sessions included short presentations followed by discussion and general participation. A key aim of these sessions was to highlight more clearly the gaps in knowledge about the Hastings and St Leonards area, and to identify the most pressing future research needs to support regeneration.
Launch event
30 April 2009 | University of Brighton, Havelock Road building, Hastings TN34 1BE
The launch event for the Coastal Regeneration Research Centre was attended by representatives from voluntary and community organisations, service users and community members, public sector organisations, academics and anyone interested in research and partnership working.
They learnt about the new centre's work, met the researchers, contributed to further discussion, networked and shared best practice, also found out more about Cupp's helpdesk and how the Hastings community can best access the resources of the University of Brighton through its Hastings campus.
