Committed to inter-disciplinarity and inter-professionalism the faculty is a creative and innovate place to work. We seek to build a sense of community amongst the 4,300 students and 350 staff based at a range of sites across the county of Sussex including Brighton, Eastbourne, and Hastings.
The working environment is excellent. The largest part of the faculty's activity is based at Falmer in newly-built accommodation in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Sussex Downs. Campuses in Eastbourne and Hastings are either new or recently refurbished.
With 23 staff based in Mayfield House on the Falmer campus, the Faculty Office provides support to the schools and leadership of the faculty through the Dean. The faculty and its schools attach particular importance to personal and professional development for all staff as part of its commitment to health, wellbeing and a positive working environment. The faculty is actively involved in the university's strategy to encourage sustainable development and takes a pro-active approach to recycling materials.
The university is committed to equality of opportunity, encouraging professional and personal development and family-friendly and flexible working policies.
Staff have access to a wide range of learning and career development opportunities. A fee waiver scheme offers opportunities to access courses run by Brighton, the University of Sussex and City College Brighton and Hove.
Other benefits include occupational pension schemes, access to a range of university facilities including libraries and sport and recreation services. University nurseries are open to both staff and student parents.
