Pre-registration/qualification interprofessional education
The courses our students follow are at different academic levels and take different periods of time. We work to the following structure, therefore, in pre-registration interprofessional education:
Early stages of training
Raising awareness of the importance of collaboration in practice: exploring the roles, responsibilities and contributions of different professions to a patient/service user's care and working in teams and groups.
Midpoint training
Interprofessional learning on specific issues (e.g. long term conditions; child abuse; safeguarding children and vulnerable adults).
Final stages of training
Working together and preparation for collaborative practice (working collaboratively in children's services; further preparation for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children).
