Your accommodation options
Finding the right type of accommodation is very important. We aim to ensure that all our students have access to well-priced, good quality accommodation. Options include:
University halls of residence
Self-catering and catered halls of residence (self-contained student apartment blocks) in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.
Unihomes
Houses that are owned privately but managed by the university and meet our high safety standards.
Private rooms or apartment
Privately-owned and managed accommodation that meets our price and quality requirements. These are advertised directly to students through Studentpad.
Help finding accommodation
In your first year at the university you can choose between living in our halls of residence or finding private accommodation. We have teams of advisers who can help you with both. If you have any questions you can email the accommodation office, or find us on Facebook.
For guidance about accommodation available to international students, please visit the UKCISA site.
Guaranteed university accommodation for international students
You are guaranteed a place in our halls of residence in the first year of your course if you are paying international fees. This applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

| Stage 1 | If you are offered a place at the university we will send you information about our halls of residence in January or February. Look at the accommodation choices available to you |
| Stage 2 | Apply online from 17 January 2013 |
| Stage 3 | Firmly accept your unconditional or conditional academic offer by 8 August 2013 |
| Stage 4 | Complete and submit your accommodation application online by 8 August 2013* |
| Stage 5 | Pay the first instalment of your rent by the date in your offer of accommodation. This is likely to be in August |
*International undergraduates who apply after 8 August 2013 will be offered a room in halls if possible, but this is not guaranteed.
International postgraduate students will be allocated rooms (if available) at the Great Wilkins Halls of Residence on the Falmer campus.
EU students
If you are an EU student paying UK/EU fees you will need to follow the same process as students paying international fees. However, your deadline for accepting your academic offer and applying for accommodation online is 20 June 2013.
Accommodation for the orientation programme
If you are coming on the international student orientation programme, we will offer you free accommodation in a hall of residence in Brighton or Eastbourne. During the orientation programme we will help you to find appropriate term-time accommodation if you have not already found any.
