The university's connections with China
In 2012, almost 150 students and more than 100 active alumni of the university are from China. The university connects with many provinces, with members of our alumni community living and working in over 50 cities, including Beijing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Nanning, Lioaning Province, Haidan, Jilin, Macao, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Our staff and students regularly travel to China and four members of our staff are from China themselves. Many of our faculties and schools have partnerships Chinese universities and almost 40,000 visits were made to our website from China last year.
Students from China choose the University of Brighton because of the strong standing of key courses of interest.
- Our degree and masters courses in Business, Management and Economics benefit from the internationally recognised research at our Centre for Research in Innovation Management (CENTRIM). The latest Research Assessment Exercise determined that 70 per cent of our research in business management is of international standing.
- Business studies students benefit from the training and consultancy work of professors. Students gain practical and leadership skills in a research active community.
- Management studies courses provide entrepreneurial skills training and connection with a network of industry partners. Become an independent thinker through collaboration with experienced Professors who share real world knowledge with students.
- Accounting courses are recognised as an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) gold tuition provider.
- The University of Brighton's Language Institute offers English language courses that are accredited by the British Council. Each year we host groups of English language teachers from China. You can hear from some of these teachers in the video on the right hand side of this page.
