Courses to improve your English before you start

The university has its own language institute (Brighton Language Institute). It offers a range of programmes accredited by the British Council for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our English courses will help you to improve your English for academic study.

You can study one of our English courses to prepare for a degree at the University of Brighton, or to improve your English to apply to other UK universities.

Degree-focused English for masters students

Free English support in your first year

As an international student at the University of Brighton, you can get English language tuition in your first year of study through our English language support programme. Courses are free and classes are held weekly on each of our main campuses.
