Guyana - academic equivalencies
Undergraduate
We require a Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) in any of the following subjects: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, French, History, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, or Spanish.
If the student has taken any other subjects or other qualifications entirely, these are not considered to be equivalent to the GCE A-level and an international foundation year would need to be completed in advance of undergraduate admission.
Postgraduate
We require a master's degree with a ‘Pass with Distinction’ from the University of Guyana. A ‘Pass with Distinction’ is generally awarded where a candidate satisfies the conditions for the award of the degree and obtains the minimum requirements as set out below:
- A GPA of not less than 3.4 in core courses and a GPA of not less than 2.5 in the other courses OR GPA of not less than 3.4 in core courses and a GPA of not less than 3.0 in all of the courses OR overall GPA 3.4.
- Completion of all required courses in the prescribed time.
- No more than one fail grade in all of the courses.
