Power Management

The University of Brighton’s Carbon Management Programme in liaison with Information Services is developing a new corporate project to centrally manage energy usage of the university’s desktop computers (Windows and Apple). The overall aim of this project is to introduce significant reductions in our energy usage.

The system will be capable of producing detailed reports presenting energy usage in a wide range of formats including CO2 in kilograms, cost in pounds and energy in kWh. We hope to work with our colleagues across the institution to encourage everyone to be more energy conscious and simply switch off their desktop computers when not in use, particularly when leaving the university at the end of the day.
