email forwarding

If you already have an email account when you join the university and you wish to receive all your email with this account, you can. You just choose to Forward all your university email to another address.

To do this, use the MyInfo page at https://myinfo.brighton.ac.uk

But note the following:

  • Email is an important form of communication at the university. Course information and messages from the library and other areas of the university will be sent to your university email account. You must ensure that you can receive this information. If you set a forwarding address, check that it works. Send an email message to your university address (eg abc1@brighton.ac.uk) and find out where this message goes to.
  • BSMS students must not set a forwarding address.
  • University staff and Researchers: the MyInfo facility allows you to forward any messages that are sent to your university address @brighton.ac.uk, but this does not include internal messages sent by other staff using the Exchange Mail servers. You must also set a Rule with Exchange to forward these messages.
