What tools and technologies we support
- studentcentral - The university’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). studentcentral manages module enrolment, holds content within a module area, and enables you to set up notifications and push out announcements to your students see here for more information
- community@brighton - The universities social networking site that supports group and cross curriculum work, enables student interaction/participation, pushes notifications via txt and email and is also a place where everyone is equal.
- Turnitin (Tii) - this is the university recommended tool to support esubmission. More information on Tii can be found here. More information on university eSubmission can be found here .
- Camtasia Relay - used to support your use of podcasting/screencasting in learning and teaching. More information can be found here .
- Computer Assisted Assessment - usually presented in the form of an online test. studentcentral has a test tool, for details on how to use it and recommendations for use see here .
- Learning Objects - both Wimba Create and studentcentral have tools that will enable you to build a learning object, for more information about learning objects and how they may support a blended learning model contact your LTA
- Interactive Technologies - i.e. using blogs, wikis and discussion boards with your students.

- Personal Response Systems - The university has a license for a web based application called...
- PollEverywhere - This is an audience response system that uses mobile phones, twitter, and the web and enables real time response display. More information can be found here.
- Connecttxt - A text messaging service that can be integrated into your areas on studentcentral and used to send text messages to your students. For more details and cost implications speak to your LTA. Click here for more information .
- Mobile Technologies - e.g. GPS, Alerts, Interaction, Engagement. Click here for more information .
