Gaining IT approval for your project

At the moment funding approval is operated separately by either SMT or UMG. For IT approval where IS resource is required for projects the PMO, and the IT Programme Board (ITPB) will both play a role in the approval and monitoring of projects.

The ITPB will be comprised of Senior Managers from IS and Finance in internal audit (TBC), and will meet regularly throughout the year. It is not a formal committee of the university, but a working group with the project oversight role. It will examine all IT projects bidding for funds and/ or IS capacity to deliver, by assessing the Outline Business Case and then the Project Initiation Document which describe the business case for the proposed project and how it will be achieved.
