Using university computers

If you want to use a computer to write up your dissertation, access your teaching materials, do some research or just browse the internet then Information Services can help you.

We provide open access computers in libraries and in dedicated computer pool rooms on all main sites of the university. There are around 500 PCs running Windows XP as well as over 70 Apple computers running Mac OS X. Printers and scanners are also widely available.

See the link Opening times and locations in the left hand menu (Opening hours link), to find out when you can use them and where they are. See the link Software for students to find out what software is available.

You can use our new pool room PC finder to check for free PC's in your pool room from here.

You need a username and password to use university computers - You'll be given these when you register for library and computing services

If you have a disability and need extra help using any of our services, please ask. We have a range of equipment and software to improve access, including: height adjustable desks, special keyboards, screen reading and magnification software, scanners and digital magnifiers. For more details, follow link to Additional Support.
