Most items can be renewed in the following ways:
- In person at your nearest library
- By phone or email - see Opening hours and locations for library contact details
- Online via the Library Catalogue section of the Online Library - you will need to log in to My Account using the borrower number on your library card.
Desk loan items can only be renewed in person in the library.
Short loan items (7 day loans) must be renewed or returned by the 7th day or you will be fined 50p per day.
The library sends out reminders 2 days before these items are due. These reminders
are sent to your university email address. Please contact your
library if you are not receiving these emails.

Please remember to check your university email and your library account frequently

Most items that you borrow from the library can be renewed but please note:
- If your library item is reserved by another user, you will not be able to renew it. You will need to return it to the library by the due date. To find out what this is, check the My Account area of the Library Catalogue.
- If your library item has been reserved by another user and you are a member of staff, a research student or a student with Extended Status, the due date will change to 3 weeks from the date the reservation was placed. However, if the item is already overdue, the due date will change to just 1 week from the date the reservation was placed. You will be sent a recall email, so it is essential that you check your email frequently.
*Items returned after the due date, will incur a 50p per day fine*
