If the book that you want is on loan to another borrower, you can make an online reservation. You can do this from any library catalogue terminal or from any computer with internet access (go to the Online Library at http://library.brighton.ac.uk).
You may have up to 20 reservations
in progress at any one time. You can also reserve videos, DVDs and CDs.
Teaching resources, desk loans, illustrations and slides cannot be
reserved.
If the item that you want is available in the library, you will not be
able to make a reservation. Additionally, you will be unable to make an
online reservation if you have a message on your library record such as
a fine or an overdue item.
You will be notified by email when
the item is ready for you to collect. You may choose which library is
most convenient for collection. It will be held there for 8 days.

Requesting books and journals
If the book, video or journal that you require is not held at your home library but is available at one of the other University of Brighton libraries, you can request an 'Inter-site loan'. There is a form for requesting a book or thesis and a form for requesting a journal article or conference paper:

If you are requesting a photocopy, you must remember to sign the copyright declaration on the form. Photocopies requested through Inter-site loan are charged at a rate of 10p per sheet.
Items requested from other sites are included in your overall loan entitlement.
