Eastbourne computer pool rooms Print

You will find open access computer pools in the Queenwood (entrance adjacent  to the library), Aldro and Hillbrow buildings at Eastbourne.

Please note that all buildings, including libraries and computer pool rooms, will be closed on public holidays including the Easter weekend.

Throughout the summer vacation, all  the computer poolrooms will be subject to closure for refurbishment. These will be advertised prior to any closure. Please contact the helpdesk on 01273 644444 in the event of a query.

Computer pool room support - term time  
Support is available in the Queenwood pool room in room 115 during the times shown below:

Aldro rooms G7, 11, 20

The Aldro building has three bookable teaching rooms containing Windows PCs. Any member of the university can use these rooms when they are not booked for classes.

Queenwood room 111,

Queenwood has one large open access room containing Windows PCs and a small number of Apple computers. There is also a small pool of computers in room 101 of the Queenwood library.

Hillbrow room G47,
Denton Road, Eastbourne, BN20 7SR

There is a small pool of computers in the Hillbrow building.

Computer rooms at Welkin and Greynore
The computer rooms at Welkin are not open access pools, they are run for and by Chelsea School. The Welkin facilities are exclusively for the use of Sports Journalist students. Further information on the use of both rooms can be obtained from the School's IT Technician (office next to the Sports Journalism computer room in Welkin).

The Learning Technologies Suite at Greynore is run for and by Service Sector Management. For further information on these facilities, see see posters on wall or see SSM technicians (Adrian Carpenter or Noel Walsh) in adjoining office.

Access information: 

  • Disabled parking bays at Queenwood, Aldro and Hillbrow buildings
  • Queenwood pool room is on the first floor - there is a lift in the main lobby
  • Wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground, second and third floors of the Queenwood building - see staff for access card
  • Aldro pool room is on the ground floor - access via side entrance
  • Hillbrow pool room is on the ground floor
  • Aldro and Hillbrow buildings both have wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor

Out of hours access

Access to the pool rooms out of office hours is now by UniCard. The white plastic access cards will no longer work and will need to be returned to the Finance Office at Trevin Towers for a refund. You can get a copy of a form you need to fill in from the library help desk.
