Exchange 2010

Information for Staff

Staff email accounts are provided on a Microsoft Exchange 2010 server.

Exchange provides tools for managing your calendar, to-do lists (Tasks) and address book (Contacts) as well as organizing your mail messages.

Look in this section for more information about using Exchange 2010 server at the University of Brighton.

You can also submit your own questions - no need to supply an answer. After typing your question click on the floppy disk icon to submit your question.

We ask for your contact details in case we need more information to be able to answer your question, however your personal details will not appear on the website.

This faq is moderated. Your question will not appear immediately!

Answer
How do I know my inbox has been moved successfully?

The easiest way to check is to log on to staffmail via the web through https://staffmail.brighton.ac.uk. Ensure that the Use Outlook Web App Light checkbox is NOT selected.

Staffmail via the web will look significantly different (it's yellow!) after you have moved.

You can also check the size of your mailbox by moving the mouse pointer over your mailbox name (usually your name) in the folder list on the left-hand side. Details about your mailbox size will pop-up, including how much space you have already used along with a message stating that you will not be able to send any more mail when your mailbox reaches 2.3 GB. If this figure is much lower than 2.3 GB, please contact the helpdesk.
