English for Academic Study
(extended pre-sessional course)
If you are thinking about Higher Education in the UK, this pre-sessional course will help you to improve your English to ensure that you are fully prepared. You do not need an English language qualification to apply.
The English for Academic Study (EAS) programme consists of up to three 10 week courses. Where you enter the programme depends on your current level of English.
- Develop Your English at intermediate level from October to December.
- Extend Your English at higher intermediate level from January to March.
- Consolidate Your English at lower advanced level from April to June.
If you are not sure which course is right for you, please call or email us and we will help you decide. Many of our students decide to take all three parts of the syllabus.
Studying EAS at the University of Brighton could be of great benefit to you.
- You will develop a solid foundation in general and academic English and you will extend your understanding of British culture and English academic conventions.
- We will help you prepare for your next IELTS test (if required).
- On successful completion of our EAS programme you may be able to proceed directly to a University of Brighton degree without having to take the IELTS test.
- We will help you with the application process for a British university course.
- Our EAS courses are based at the university and taught by tutors who understand the skills and knowledge that you will need for academic success.
- The EAS programme provides excellent opportunity to meet other students and get used to academic life in the UK before going on to study for a degree.
