Who is this course for?

If you have an offer to study for a degree at the University of Brighton, the Summer Pre-sessional English programmes will help you improve your English before you start.

Masters students often choose to follow the Extended Masters route.

Key facts

  • You do not need to take any other IELTS test before beginning your degree course. You can go straight from the Summer Pre-sessional course to your degree, providing you pass your assessments at the Brighton Language Institute.
  • The Summer Pre-sessional Enlgihs course is basde at the university and taught by tutors who understand the skills and knowledge that you need for academic success.
  • The Summer Pre-sessional is an excellent opportunity to meet other students and get used to life in the UK and the University of Brighton before you start your degree.

If you have an unconditional offer to study for a degree at the University of Brighton, you can still join our pre-sessional programme. Many of our students choose to do this to boost their confidence in academic English before they start. The four-week programme is particularly suitable for this.
