Apply Now For Your 2010/2011 Student Finance!

PR1You must apply for student finance in each year of your course.

If you are a ‘continuing student’ you can do this by completing a 2010/11 PR1 application form (download here) and posting it to your local authority or Student Finance England, depending on who is responsible for processing your application.

If you started your course in September 2009, you should send it to:

If you are a continuing student who is applying for student finance that does not depend on your household income you should apply by 23 April 2010
If you are a continuing student who is applying for student finance that does depend on your household income you should apply by 21 May 2010

PLEASE NOTE: If you apply later than these dates you may not get your money at the start of term.

Remember to notify Student Finance England or your local authority of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your entitlement to funding.  For example, change your course or household income, or if you transfer to another university.  You can do this by downloading a Change of Circumstances form (CO1) from the direct.gov website and sending it to your local authority or Student Finance England.

Tuition fees for most full-time undergraduate students from the UK will £3290 for 2010.  However, if you are unsure how much your fees are for the 2010/11 academic year please contact: fees@brighton.ac.uk

For those of you still waiting for student finance funding for this academic year, 2009/2010, you are not alone. There are still considerable delays within Student Finance England, so contact us urgently if you require assistance with pursuing your application. This applies to students awaiting means and non means tested funding.
If you are contact with Student Finance England, you should always take the name of the person you speak to and if you are sending documents in the post you should always send them recorded delivery.

PR1 Form Filling Sessions

The Student Advice Service is running PR1 drop in sessions at the following sites during March and April for students who would like some help completing the application form.  If you want to attend one of these please contact us on 01273 642888 or email: Studentadvice@brighton.ac.uk

Please include your name and student number, and let us know which session you would like to attend in the email. Feel free to bring a packed lunch!
